Technology is mostly harnessed in the manufacturing industry to lighten the load of manual labor. The days when physical force used to be extracted from workers to a maximum are gone. The 21st century is the age of automation when machinery is the supreme controller of all heavy duty tasks at factories and warehouses. Electrical engineering technology has come a long way to have developed powerful tools. The application of these tools has multiplied productivity and reduced overall production cost at the same time. Stacker is among such high-end tools to execute heavy duty activities with manpower in the slightest.

Stackers are available for both light and heavy tasks. The configuration of a stacker varies with the nature of tasks which the stacker is required to carry out in no time. Straddle stacker is lighter in weight and simpler in configuration than other types of stackers. Roll containers, cranes, platform trucks, self trolleys and tow tractors are a few straddle stackers with lots of usability. Usability is not the only mainstay feature of these stackers. They also offer portability because of their light weight and simple configuration. They have eased the task of moving and unloading goods.

Drum and IBC Handling is a kind of straddle stacker. It is largely used to move massive drums from one corner to another at warehouses. The weight-carrying capacity is not the same with all types of straddle stackers. It varies with the configuration of stackers. Bar and Plate Handling another type of straddle stacker is easy to use with slight physical force. Such stackers are affordable and found at small-scale factories. Moreover, they need easy maintenance.

Stackers that are electrically operated are somewhat heavy in weight and sophisticated in configuration. Better known as electric stackers, they vary in a range according to different needs and requirements at manufacturing units. Among the stackers of this sort, prime movers, platform trucks and rider tow tractors are extensively used. They run on electric energy at smooth pace and handled by drivers. They are usually used at factories where heavy weights are frequently pushed and pulled. Stand on tow tractor is another electric stacker of great use.

Solar power is the energy of the future. Learn how to get dirt cheap solar power system. A few of the numerous advantages of solar energy are first and foremost its free, easy to exploit and is capable to provide more energy than what is needed by most homes and businesses.

You may be aware that a commercially sold solar panel has its worth in thousands of dollars. But, did you know you can go solar for a fraction of that cost?

Why Go Solar?

Solar panels are made up of small PV cells, also known as photovoltaic cells. The PV cells capture sun light and store it in a battery. The energy stored in the battery is then transformed into usable electricity using an inverter. Solar power is a renewable resource of energy and free to harness once you have installed solar panels.

Installing ready made solar panels can be pretty expensive and can cost you anywhere from $10,000 – $18,000 to solar power you entire home. You can solar power your whole house for a fraction of this amount if you learn how to build cheap solar power system on your own. Building a solar power system from scratch is cheap and easy; all the required raw materials can be easily bought from the local electrical or hardware store. This also cuts down on any further impact on the environment as the solar panels do not go through any manufacturing processes.

Going Solar Is Easy!

Various kits are available to download from different vendors that will teach you to build a cheap solar power system. The downloaded kits include steps for calculating the actual electricity that you need from solar panels based upon your electricity bills. Once you have that information you can start building your own solar panels, typically you can easily build a 100 watt solar panel in a day very easily.

Now, that’s not something very substantial, but when you can easily redo the whole process over and over again, you can completely go off-grid with a few days of work and perhaps sell back the extra power back to the utility company. Now, how is that for a change? You’ll get a check from the utility provider!

Save Heaps!

Once you install a cheap solar power system, it will pay for itself many times over the course of its life. Generally, solar panels have an average lifetime for 25-30 years requiring no to little maintenance. So, you do the math here and calculate how much you are set to save!

Compound and progressive dies |

January 21st, 2010

Author: Pmolds

Compound dies combine two or more operations at one station as illustrated, strip stock is fed to the die, two holes are punched , and the piece is blanked on each stroke of the ram. when the operations are not similar, as in the case of a blanking and forming operation, dies of this type are frequently know as combination dies.

A progressive die set performs two or more operations simultaneously but at different stations. A punch-and-die set of this type is shown in Fig.17-2. As the strip enters the die, the small square hole is punched. The stock is then advanced to the next station, where it is positioned by the pilot as the blanking punch descends to complete the part.

This general type of design is simpler than the compound dies, because the respective operations are not crowded together. Regardless of the number of operations to be performed, the finished part is not separated from the strip until the last operation.

In the perforation of metal one or two rows of punches are employed. The metal sheet is moved incrementally through the press each time the punches are withdrawn. The punched holes may be almost any shape. All nonbrittle metals can be perforated.

Misalignment of punch and die causes excessive pressures, shearing or chipping of
die edges, or actual breaking of the tools, Such action may occur through shifting even though the setup is originally correct. To prevent these occurrences, proper alignment is ensured by guide rods at two or four corners of the die that fit into holes in the punch holders, These dies are known as pillar dies. This arrangement of having the punch and die held in proper alignment facilitates the setting up of the tools. A similar arrangement, Known as a subpress die and accasionally used on small work, employs a punch and die mounted in a small frame so that accurate alignment is always maintained. pressure is applied by a plunger tat extends out of the top of the assembly.

Major Components of a Bare Lamp |

January 21st, 2010

Author: bulbmbs

If you are planning to purchase a projector lamp, then it is important to know all its components. A complete projector lamp module consists of a bare bulb, connector, and lamp housing. This post deals with a few facts about bare lamp components.

If we look at the construction of a bare lamp, we can find that the burner is placed inside a reflector. This burner is connected to a cage or plastic covering that surrounds the lamp, which is connected to the projector via connectors.

Burner, also known as high intensity discharge bulb, provides brighter light when compared to other types of bulb. This increased output of light obtained from a single high intensity discharge bulb is one of the reasons for such burners being used in bare lamps. A burner plays a major role in the quality of the picture delivered by the projector.

Reflector is one of the key components of a bare projector lamp. The reflector directs the light from the lamp towards the mirror. This mirrored panel prevents scattering of light and ensures that very less light is wasted.

The front glass in a bare projector lamp is another essential component. Hot bulbs are susceptible to quick damage and the front glass prevents physical contact with the bulb. It also avoids accumulation of dirt on top of these bare lamps.

Bare lamps can be bought from the market and replaced manually. Be it projector lamps or projector replacement lamps, BulbToGo is a great place to buy them.

Projector lamps are characterized based on different types namely, manufacturer original replacement lamps, compatible lamps, and original alternative lamps.

Original Replacement Lamps
The projector replacement lamps produced by the original projector or the rear projection TV manufacturer are called original replacement lamps. These projector lamps are manufactured according to the same standards as that of the original projector or the rear projection TV. The manufacturers do not in any way compromise on the quality of the projector replacement lamps. These lamps are usually produced individually keeping in mind the specifications required by the original projector or the rear projection TV.

Original Alternative Lamps
Original alternative lamps are perfect replacements for manufacturer original replacement lamps. They are cost-effective compared to the original manufacturer replacement lamps. The original alternative projector lamps are manufactured in a high-quality environment and are usually upto the same standards as that of the original replacement lamps.

These replacement projector lamps are manufactured to ISO9001 standards, which ensure a good quality. Original alternative lamps are usually the result of extensive research and testing by several projector lamp experts. They are designed to give high performance levels at low costs.

Compatible Lamps
Compatible lamps are also known as copy lamps. These are usually imported from the grey market and are of unknown manufacturing standard. They also don’t come with any basic warranty. This is because compatible lamps are manufactured by non-regulated companies. They’re packaged in boxes without labels and the prices at which they’re offered are also too low.

So, it’s always better to go for original alternative lamps, if you can’t afford the original replacement lamps. To buy genuine projector replacement lamps or projector bulbs, BulbToGo.com is the ideal place.
