Time passes as I write this essay |

Sports, school, and college apps take up so much of my time. I literally need every waking moment to succeed in all these aspects. Obviously if I am writing this meaningless paper, then I am not spending every possible moment as efficiently as need be. Therefore I currently am not succeeding in any aspect [Insert necessary sad face here]. One could argue that I am “succeeding”, but then it would just end in a futile discussion of semantics and definitions.

Anyway, as I daydream and waste more time, I contemplate the ways I can dig out of my current rut. Say for example, I could freeze time. The first thing I’d do is get ahead in al of my classes (damn I misspelled “all” but oh well it’s supposed to be an unrevised paper so whatever). But really I would do all of my homework, and if possible, attain my teachers’ schedules so I could do homework weeks in advance. I’d also make sure that I know the material really well in all my classes. If there is one thing that I learned in high school, or if there is one thing that I have gained, it is the love and tolerance for learning. I used to be an expert at “playing the system”. I’m one of those people who can do absolutely no work or studying in a class and still expect a high 90 (Hi haters). But I’ve come to develop a thirst for knowledge. Well, I’ve always had a thirst for knowledge, but it was very selective and filtered. Now, I really want to “learn” the material in ALL of my classes.

Wow I’ve been drifting. This is supposed to be a writing exercise and I’m supposed to be staying on task here. I need more practive (ok clearly the “v” is next to the “c” on the key board) supporting and developing my central thesis. I didn’t even have a thesis statement…wow. I’m supposed to be getting better at writing and here I am making mistakes. You know, practice DOES NOT make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect. If I write 100 papers that lack a thesis, I won’t gain the automatic incite to include a thesis on the 101st paper. Note to self, write a thesis for my next OP. Wow I’ve wasted so much time.

If you want to learn to write, you are going to get to know plots very well. One thing to remember is that plots are not not very easy. Sometimes, some plots show up and you work with them for ages only to find that they are not going anywhere. Other times, it feels like they are not going anywhere until you finally sit down to write them, and then they turn out quite well. As you learn to write and as you get more experience in the field, you will find that you are in a place where plots and putting them together get more and more easy for you, so don’t worry; it does come with practice!

When you want to learn to write children’s books, take some time and think about your plot. Your plot should be about a character that has a problem (conflict) that they want to solve. For example, are your character’s lost? If so, your plot may be about your characters trying to get home. However, if your character’s are lost and they are more interested in exploring a haunted house, your plot has a lot more to do with them learning about what is in the haunted house rather than them trying to get home! Do some thinking and figure out where your plot is going.

What should a good plot have inside it? The interesting thing is that a good plot can consist of almost anything; just make sure that it has the following components.

* Characters: Ideally, they are people that your audience can sympathize with and relate to

* Conflict: Your characters need a problem to solve

* Tension: It can’t be that easy for them to solve their issue

* Resolution: The plot cannot go on forever; how do your characters solve their conflict?

Putting together a plot might sound complicated and if you are interested in writing children’s books for older children, it can get downright complex. One thing that you can do is to sit down with a bunch of note cards to map the plot out. Write down the questions that your story is asking and then come up with answers.

If you were assigned to do such a writing, you should ask back if what kind of topic you are going to discuss in your content. After your teacher or your boss explained the instruction of your future piece, you are now ready to start planning out the things that you will include in your content.

There are two categories of writing where you might want to choose to, it’s either writing a non-fiction or fictional piece. If you are into non-fiction writing like making a news story, research papers or thesis, then all you have to do is to conduct a thorough research and study about the topic that you are going to right in order to elaborate or widen things up.

But if you are into fiction writing like essays, novels, etc, still you should always read some reference materials or browse the web so that you can at least stick to the facts and support your writings with the real information even if you these types of writings only use your point of views and to what you really feel about the topic.

However, it is also a bit confusing and stressful if you consume most of your time through gathering some thoughts or views on how you are going to add some ideas in your content and organize it all in a detailed manner. Since, it will greatly affect the quality of your writing. But then, all your ideas will be mix up if you use your head too much and will caused your writing a bit incorrect and unreadable.

If your copy seems wrong, yet you can’t put your finger on it, there are a number of things you can try:

If your topic is so complicated, then I bet you should be aware on how are you going to place an exclamation mark in relation to your strong and powerful sentence.
