Griddles are a flat metal surface or pan on which food is cooked with dry heat. Many griddles are made of cast iron. In addition to being a great household item, griddles are used outdoors. Consumers who are avid campers and dedicated hunters have more than one griddle. They love the added flavor cooking on a griddle gives to their food.
Griddles come in many sizes to meet the needs of your kitchen and the open camp fire. The size of the griddle you will select depends on what you plan to make in it and how many people you plan to feed on a regular basis. Griddles are made out of several materials including cast iron and Teflon. They range in price depending on the size, the materials used, and the band you select to purchase.
Griddles generally last a very long time. Some cast iron ones have been passed down from one generation to another, and are still great to cook in. Cleaning a griddle is fairly easy. It is recommended that you only use a mild soap and a dish rage. Harsh chemicals and scouring pads can ruin the bottom of them. Dishwashers are usually not a good idea either.
Most grills are quality made and come with warranties any where from 1 year to 10 depending on the manufacture of the product. Some department stores have an in-store policy if anything goes wrong with it within a month of purchase they will replace it, but with this type of policy the consumer needs to keep their receipt to have proof of purchase.
Griddles are used to match a variety of great foods, both indoors and out. They have been around for centuries. Griddles are popular because they are inexpensive, the hold up to the elements, the cook evenly, and food does not stick. If your kitchen doesn’t have a griddle, you are missing out.
