Your Purse Or Handbag Should Match Your Body Type |

December 29th, 2009

Author: Toby Martin

Most women can’t leave the house without bringing a purse or a purse with them. After all , carrying a purse along is a convenient way of dragging loose change, a cellphone, a compact, a brush, a lipstick, keys, a vial of perfume, reading material, and all of the other stuff that ladies cannot leave home without. Toting a purse or a purse saves girls from having stuffed and awkward pockets, if they have pockets at all .

however , as convenient as a handbag is in helping us carry stuff around, what many ladies fail to realize is a purse or a purse is a fashion accessory. So, because it’s a fashion accessory, it should work with the rest of the outfit.

Depending on what kind of purse you are carrying, you could be drawing attention to the curves of your body that you’ll prefer to de-emphasize.

it is all about balance. Just like any piece of clothing or accessory that you have on you, your purse should make your figure appear balanced. It should hide what you may want to hide and emphasise what you may need to emphasise.

One of the elements that you should be following when picking out a purse to match your outfit is that large handbags go with amply padded bodies, while little purses go with smaller bodies. If you’re a petite person, the sort of purse that you should be using is small. If you wear and sizes, you should go for bigger purses.

So, which type of purse should go with which kind of curves? Going with the principle on size on choosing purses, if you’re short with only a slight figure, you should go for a handbag that is small and is something you can hold close to your body. You can achieve this by wearing a purse that is medium-sized and with a long shoulder strap that will allow you to hold the purse close to your waist. Holding the purse against the waist will make you seem that you have a slim waist that softly slopes to your hips.

The perfect handbag for you is something with a shoulder strap which will allow the handbag to hang just above your hips.
Girls with top-heavy figures, on the other hand, would wish to call attention away from their higher bodies. Do not forget to get a giant purse to balance out your top-heavy body.

never ever use a tiny purse if you’ve got a and size figure. As we revealed above, toting a small purse will only call attention to your size. Always go for a wide purse that will lend a balanced look to your figure.
If you have the perfect hourglass figure, with your bust line in proportion to your hips and with a definite waist, you are to be envied. You can lug along almost any sort of purse or handbag there is. Always get a purse that’s just the correct size compared to your body. So, if you are on the short and lean side, go for a little bag. If you’re huge and actually curvy, a big bag will work for you.

You should make it work to balance out your figure.

Women?s Handbags – Handbags That Flatter Your Body Shape and Size |

December 29th, 2009

Author: Toby Martin

Purses, next to diamonds and maybe shoes, are a woman’s best friend. Not only are they used to hold everything that we hold dear, from our cellular phones to our visa cards, our palm pilots to the papers which will spell the difference between promotion and demotion. Let’s accept it, are you able to imagine a world without the women’s purse as we all know it?

Today, women handbags aren’t only’receptacles’ of your cherished possessions but also fashion statements. Handbags are sometimes used to express moods, individuality, style and status. And even though, it isn’t truly worn so near to the body like bloused, skirts and jeans, there are still shapes and styles of ladies’s purses that could be flattering and unflattering to a person. Accept it or not, the handbag that you carry can essentially add on or reduce the weight that you appear to carry.

Look at the shape.
As an example, if you’re tall and thin, look for bags that are more about the rounded side like the hobo or those that are a bit unstructured. This will complement your figure as it would provide a sharp contrast to your body. If on the other hand, you are on the short and heavy side, it is great to hold girls handbags that are tall, oblong or those with really outlined shapes. Long and sleek designs will help counterbalance your more rounded figure. Naturally, there is not any need to buy girls handbags that are absolutely reed thin or those with truly sharp edges. Silhouettes in soft fabrics and leathers can do the trick. Just do not forget to stay away from ladies handbags with rounded designs.
Think of the size

the dimensions of your bag should complement your size. While the shape should be contrasting and complementing, the size should be in proportion. If as an example you are quite tall and massive for your age, it might be truly clumsy for you to carry this really little handbag. The same applies with a fairly petite person while carrying this extremely big bag. Awkward. Clumsy.

Closefitting girls handbags or those that may be fit right under the arm at breast level can only look great with women who are thin and those who need to emphasize their cleavage. Using these sorts of girls handbags are discouraged for folks who have gigantic arms and big busts as the short handles tend to emphasize the massive sizes. Remember the length of the purse or shoulder bag will always accentuate the part it comes near with.
If your arm feels cramped, then it is much too short.

The History of Hermes |

December 29th, 2009

Author: maartenralston

The French high fashion house Hermes specializes in a variety of products, including ready-to-wear clothing, leather goods and accessories and perfumes. The Hermes Fashion House was established in Paris as a harness making shop in 1837 by Thierry Hermes (1801-1878).The line was expanded during the late 1879 by his son and successor, Charles-Emile Hermes to include the manufacture of saddles.

During this period a new retail location was opened near the Palais de l Elysee. Following Charles-Emile’s retirement, his sons Adolphe and Emile-Maurice assumed leadership of the company. They chose to rename it to Hermes Freres. By this time they were already selling saddles to customers as far abroad as Russia and Asia. Emile-Maurice became the first man to introduce the zipper in France, and obtained exclusive rights to its use in leather clothing and accessories.

In 1922 the company introduced its first handbags, and in 1924 they secured a foothold in the United States. 1929 saw the release of the first women fashion apparel collection in Paris. Hermes is known for the “Kelly Bag” which Grace Kelly made world famous in 1956. The bag, was actually manufactured much earlier in 1930.

In the 1930s they added the now famous Hermes scarf to their product line, and set up a dedicated scarf factory in 1937. More new products were released over the next few years, including silk ties in 1946 and perfume in 1949.

Emile-Maurice died in 1951,to be succeeded by Robert Dumas-Hermes. Dumas was related to the family by marriage only and thus incorporated the Hermes name into his own. Robert was responsible for the introduction of the Hermes Tie, the Beach towel and the Perfumes. Hermes ties are the most coveted in the world and command prices from $160.00 to nearly $300.00 each. Today Hermes sells in excess of one million ties annually, representing 10% of their annual sales.

The 1970s brought vast international expansion, with shops opening across the United States, Japan and Europe. Despite this the company started to falter and lagged behind its competitors. When Robert died in 1978 he was succeeded by his son Jean-Louis Dumas-Hermes. Jean-Louis is the definitive hands on Chairman. He travels the world extensively, bringing back ideas that are incorporated into every aspect of Hermes product development. During the 1990s, Hermes continued to expand their product line, venturing successfully into crystal and porcelain tableware.

By 2008 Hermes had 14 divisions providing a wide spectrum of products, including menswear, perfume, womens fashion, footwear and jewelry. The company has over 20 boutiques in the United States alone. Hermes continues to be a revered name in the fashion world due to the meticulous craftsmanship embodied in all their products and the prestige associated with them. Hermes sales are made up of 30% leather goods,15% clothes,12% scarves and 15% ties. Hermes clientele include such celebrities as Paris Hilton, Nicole Kid man, Julianne Moore, Elle Mac Pherson, Elizabeth Hurley and Madonna.

Bags for the season 2009/2010 |

November 20th, 2009

Author: Martinapp

As we all know, the next autumn/winter 2009/2010 season will be dominated by the measure “over”, it is ideal to take as a handbag and a shoulder bag, to be more modern and carefree, while travelling or shopping to have always with you everything you need never be forgotten. Something has already reached the ears of those closely following the news of fashion, the incoming season will focus on leather bags and in crocodile prints. The new collections offer purses of different shapes and sizes, making them so original and elegant at the same time. Thanks to the measures that are enlarging, this unique accessory will be appreciated by all women, even the most doubtful.

The colors for the next season certainly will be pale colors, but also bright and strong colors, such as black, brown, deep blue and red, so it will be necessary to buy at least a red clothing or accessory. In the fall closet practice and capacious bags can not miss, as well as evening bags, sophisticated and elegant, timeless linear and classical models. The autumn/winter collection is distinguished by the variety of models and even materials to choose from: we have the skin, phyton and crocodile prints, and suede.

The bag alternates plain and fancy patterns, sophisticated and easy models, from the suede effect to the superb evening clutch. From pure white to colored patters, from phyton prints bags to the typical pattern of every brand. The evening bags can become a passé par tout for all social occasions for next season, the leather is absolutely the protagonist of this season, mostly in neutral colors such as beige and black, which can be matched to any clothing. A lot of bags have double long handles that allow to be worn as a handbag or a shoulder bag. Forms are always soft and comfortable, but not too large, so in case they can be worn also in the evening.

With regard to evening bags, we can find beautiful clutches with the phyton effect, with glossy finish that will turn on every look. The colors are classics as grey, and modern and actual as purple. The trend seems in fact to focus on clutch and handbags, even if a novelty of this season are the oversized evening bags, proposed by some designers. These bags are bold and elegant. The tinkling version with sequins and a shiny effect is a compelling model. Suitable for an elegant and glam evening, you will make a great figure holding in hands this unique creation. Equally elegant yet sophisticated and of chic effect is the precious cloth version with snap enclosure, embellished with tasteful décor. The supersize bags do not displace the clutch in the panorama of evening bags, but are intended as a successful and trendy alternative. Suitable for women from the enterprising and dynamic look, but that do not want to sacrifice style. There are even the so-called Crystal Bag, very special and top models of the new season. In soft suede, they are enriched with Swarovski jewel decorations, which make them shine in a discreet yet decided way. You will be beautiful day and night!

Does Your Bra Fit? |

Does Your Bra Fit?

Author: Colby Morrison

Every woman knows the difficulty involved in finding the right bra. Questions like What cup Size are you now? What style do you require? Seem to never end! Well…First and foremost it is essential that you know your correct size. A badly fitting bra can lead to back problems, muscle tension, and even headaches. If you are in your teen years, the strain caused by a badly fitting bra can lead to permanent problems with posture and even back pain. So that’s why teens should be fit by a bra expert at least twice a year or even after every noticeable growth pattern. Your first consideration should be the reason you need the bra; is it for athletics, coverage, comfort or support? There are different types and styles of bras made for specific types of bodies and physical activities. Although it would be nice, no one bra can do it all; you have different bras for different jobs. A Sexy bra for those intimate private moments or a Sports Bra for when you want to perform arduous exercise. First Bras Training bras are for younger girls who have just started to develop breasts and are not able to fit into standard size bras. Age is not the concern, rather its getting the right fit and support for your breast size. Wireless Bras Light support or wireless bras usually have no Underwire and are sometimes the preferred choice for those with smaller breasts. They are less constricting and more comfortable than full support bras. As they are wireless they offer less shaping and more freedom than other bras. You can find the padded and unpadded variety; what you choose is a matter of personal preference. Underwire Bras Full support or underwire bras usually have an underwire or plastic boning holding them up. It doesn’t matter what breast size you are, however it is a must for those with larger cup sizes. They also are available in padded or unpadded varieties. Push Up Bras Sometimes referred to as padded bras and more famously attributed to the Wonderbra. They lift the breasts and add more shape to them with extra padding. There are some more innovative versions around that use silicone inserts or water sacks to enhance your look even further. They are known to “lift and separate” the breasts, creating a full cleavage and most importantly offer lots of support. Plus Size Bras Plus size bras have finally found a home away from the unsightly bras of yesteryear to the sleek and sexy bras of today. From sports to sexy to your everyday bra, plus size bras are now available in many styles and brands. You can get extremely feminine lacy plus size bras, or bras finished in satin, silk, lace and cotton, under wire and strapless bras. Sports Bras Probably the least flattering and sexy in the bra family but ironically the most important one for growing teens to have. As well as offering full support, they also stop the breasts from moving during strenuous activity. The tissue in your breasts is very delicate and growing tissue especially needs to be protected during high impact exercise. Nursing Bras Your breasts start changing shape from the fourth month of pregnancy. As a result, most women find their previous bra too small. Purchase a nursing bras close to your due date or shortly after your baby arrives, because your breasts will grow larger toward the end of your pregnancy and when milk comes in. Consider buying a bra that has flaps and can be opened and refastened easily. Since milk leakage is inevitable, it also makes sense to buy nursing pads to protect both your bra and clothes. It is always better to buy 100% cotton bras, as cotton is a breathable fabric. Synthetic fabrics trap moisture and encourage bacterial growth and soreness. Mastectomy Bras These types of bras are designed with pockets in the cup area to hold a breast prosthesis. There is a wide range of styles and colors available. The silicone breast prosthesis simulates the natural breast with regards to its shape and weight. The main advantage of the prosthesis is that it provides symmetry and balance to a persons body, who has survived breast cancer. Wearing the right prosthesis is primarily important to your ultimate comfort level. With a superior fitting prosthesis and a well-made and fitted mastectomy bra, you in turn will help to balance your posture and provide fortification for your chest and breast cancer scars. Now you know the importance of the bra and the many types available, you should know firstly what size you need and how to determine that size. The following article gives you an insight into how to measure your self and the importance of a well fitted bra.

How to Buy Lingerie for Your Partner |

How to Buy Lingerie for Your Partner

Author: Colby Morrison

Most men know nothing about picking out lingerie, which is understandable because it can be confusing.  What type of lingerie to buy, what size, what color – how is a man to know?  Here is a little guide to help you when choosing lingerie for that special someone. There are a few things to consider before you go out.  What does she like?  Remember that you will not be wearing this – she will and you should go out with the intent on getting something she will like.  If she is not into lacey, tiny, see-through teddies, chances are if you buy that, she will not be in much of a mood to wear it and you may never see it.  So keep what she likes in mind.   If you do not know, check out her nightgown/lingerie drawer before you leave.  Check for material type (cotton, silk, etc.), colors, and most importantly, size.  She may be flattered if she wears a large and you get her a small, but if she wears a small and you buy her a large, you may find yourself in trouble.  Avoid anything that says “control” on the label.  Those items are used to firm and flatten tummys and rears and she would probably not appreciate receiving them as a gift.   Another thing to remember is if the store offers to wrap the lingerie let them.  Dainty lingerie will look better in their wrapping than if you wrap it in the paper left over from your cousin’s birthday.  Presentation is part of the package with lingerie.  Also, if you are uncomfortable in the store, check out online stores that sell lingerie.  You can always start at Victoria’s Secret, but most major department stores like Macys and Nordstroms also sell lingerie.  Final note – remember to keep your receipt just in case it is the wrong style, size, or color. Now, what type of lingerie is available?  Just about anything you can think of!  Ask yourself what the occasion is. Is this to let her know you love her?  If so, something crotchless or see-through probably will not send that message.  But, if it is for Valentine’s Day or your anniversary, something a little more risqué might be appreciated.  Bras alone have many different styles including push up, plunge, gel filled, padded, under wire, seamless, backless, strapless, open cup, and unpadded.   If you are purchasing a bra and panty set, always check out what she has in her drawer beforehand and definitely make note of the size – of both the bra and panties.  Most places sell at least one pair of panties that match each bra, but some will sell several so you can mix and match.  It will help to know what type of panties she likes to wear too – thongs, briefs, or high cut bikini. When it comes to sleepwear, it can be just as confusing.  One type of sleepwear is babydoll pajamas.  They usually have very thin straps, a plunging V neckline, and are very short with matching panties.  You will find most of these made out of silk or satin, materials that always make a woman feel good about herself.  But, if she feels her breasts are too big or too small, or thinks her stomach is too big, you might want to avoid babydoll pajamas.   There are slips and chemises. Similar to the babydoll pajamas, these are a little longer and a little better at concealing problem areas such as breasts, butt or stomach.  They too are usually made of silk or satin.   Gowns are full-length versions of the babydoll.  Many are see-through or lacey and can help put your woman in the mood.  Babydolls, slips, chemises, and gowns may also come with a robe.   A pajama set might not sound too sexy, but if it is silky, and buttons up the front, it can make your woman feel very sexy, especially if she is a plus size (size 18 or larger).  Boxer sets have become very popular lately.  The tops are tight, with thin straps and usually a V neckline, although there are boxer sets with normal t-shirt tops. If you are really looking for lingerie to spice up your love life, take a look at Frederick’s of Hollywood (available online).  They have been selling sexy lingerie for over 50 years.  They have a wide variety of garter belts, bustiers, corsets, teddies (similar to the babydoll, but one piece), crotchless panties, and fishnet stockings – items that may not be available at many stores that sell lingerie. What type of lingerie you should get your love depends a lot on her self-esteem.  Many big woman love sexy little teddies, but some will shy away from them, for fear of exposing too much of themselves.  Most stores sell lingerie in plus sizes, which are a little less revealing.  If she is really athletic, a boxer set might be something she would like.  Thin women will look good in anything, but especially teddies, corsets, and babydolls. When shopping for lingerie, try to keep in mind what she likes.  If you purchase something similar to the lingerie she already has and in colors you know she likes, it will probably make her happy.  But, keep the receipt just in case!

Taming Your Hair |

Taming Your Hair

Author: Colby Morrison

From turning frizzy hair into a sleek and natural-looking style, millions of women around the world invest in quality hair straighteners, hair dryers, curling irons, and hair relaxers. Premium brands and companies are also investing in creating new products; the line of Sedu flat irons, Sedu hair straighteners, and ceramic hair straighteners are a popular choice for women interested in a basic style that stays in line with today’s hairstyling trends. When the Solia flat iron was introduced, many women found this to be a better option than other flat irons on the market. The process of drying hair, then curling, relaxing, or straightening it is one that takes time and the use of quality tools and products. If you are using the wrong hairstyling products, hair can easily become frizzy, damaged, and even break. This can lead to poor moisture and “dead” hair that is difficult or impossible to style. Finding the right hair dryer for the task at hand is just as important as finding the best styling tools, such as hair straighteners and curling irons. Hair relaxers are most commonly used for women with excessively curly, thick, or African American hair. Americans spend approximately 7 billion dollars per year on hair styling equipment, salon visits, and general hair maintenance. Although there are many beauty benefits of staying ahead of the season’s trends, changing the condition of the hair on a regular basis can cause hair damage. Hair straighteners are one of the most popular ways to achieve a sleek and chic look, and many different methods have been tried. Still, one of the best ways to achieve this look is by using Sedu hair straighteners. These are combination of ceramic hair straighteners and ionic tourmalilne technology that make use of infra red heat. When a woman decides to use one of these tools, their hair becomes flat and free of curls without damage, because the heat they output is much less damaging than steam and standard flat iron hair straighteners in general. Ceramic hair straighteners are becoming a popular choice because they are lightweight, can heat up quickly, and leave little damage to the particles of the hair. Women who do decide to straighten their hair at home need to find the best hair straighteners for their hair type, along with the best hair dryers for a complete routine. Many choose Sedu flat irons, simply for their ease of use and even heat distribution.  The Solia flat iron is another popular choice and is constructed in a similar fashion as the Sedu flat iron. Chi hair straighteners are another option for women looking to remove frizz and create a flat and sleek look. Chi hair straighteners first became popular with the Chi ceramic hairstyling iron. These hair straighteners and flat irons offer removable plates that also help protect the hair cuticle. Chi hair straighteners are designed in such a way that they help seal in color and moisture. Farouk Systems, Inc. is the only authorized manufacturer of the Chi hair products; finding an authentic model is an important part of the shopping process. Chi flat irons offer an adjustable temperature dial in addition to a flat heating option that provides intermittent heat for specific parts of the hair. Chi hair straighteners heat up very quickly, offering convenience and ease of use. The line of Chi hair straighteners is also available in three different sizes: Mini, Chi Turbo, and Big Chi Turbo. When purchasing ceramic hair straighteners, especially Sedu hair straighteners or Sedu flat irons, it’s important to set a budget. Most of the highlighted hair straighteners range in price from $100 to $150, and occasionally will be more expensive. In order to make sure that the hair follicles and strands do not become damaged, the best hair straighteners are made with high quality ceramic plates. These units are designed to maintain steady temperatures and will prevent excessive heat damage from occurring. Hair straighteners made exclusively with metal plates, for example, will have uneven distribution and may lead to overheating of the hair. Sedu hair straighteners, as another example, have become famous for their steady heat regulation. This is why the ceramic hair straighteners are becoming the standard of choice for hair salons all over the civilized world. The width of the ceramic hair straightener is important, since coarse hair types require the additional width. The size of the ceramic plates is also an important consideration when dealing with long hair, because once again, the larger plates can help provide a more even and consistent straightening of the hair. Many top quality hair straighteners and flat irons come with attachments for different sized plates. For women who are trying to be more creative with their hair, the different attachments can help with successfully creating these different hairstyles. We recommend that you spend the extra time to discover which hairstyling equipment will best suit your everyday needs and your desires to be creative. Once you have purchased your hairstyling equipment, be sure to read the documentation that is shipped with it, so that you will have a full measure of the capabilities of your new hairstyling tools. Once you have received your new hairstyling tools, you will find that all of your “bad hair days” are a thing of the past.

Cool Sunglasses for Those Hot Days

Author: Colby Morrison

There is something about a pair of sunglasses that makes them arguably one of the most quintessential ‘must-have’ items of all time. Not only are they immensely practical, offering protection from the dangers of the sun, they are an enormously versatile fashion accessory, available in a huge range of styles, colors and prices to suit every pocket. Given their worldwide popularity, sunglass manufacturing has become a very lucrative, but highly competitive industry and while some manufacturers rise and wane in the public affections, there is one company that remains forever synonymous with the eyeglasses that protect our eyes from the rays of the sun: Ray-Ban Although Us President, Benjamin Franklin, is often credited with inventing eyeglasses (he was the one who developed the first bifocal lens in the 1780’s), the first reading glasses were developed in Italy, as early as 1260. People continued to be fascinated by all things optical throughout the centuries that followed, then, in the mid-eighteen hundreds British scientist James Ayscough began to research tinted glass, and the possibility that such technology may be used to improve vision impaired eyesight. As successful as he was, it was not until 1929 that the idea that glasses could filter the sun’s rays was given any serious consideration. At that time, U.S. optical company, Foster Grant, began to develop the idea further, until finally, later that same year, the first ever pair of sunglasses were sold from a Woolworth’s store on the Atlantic City boardwalk. Recognizing that the new technology could be beneficial to their pilots, the U.S. Army Air Corps asked another prominent American company, Bausch & Lomb, to develop eyeglasses that would protect the eyes from the dangers of the glaring sun, when flying. It was U.S. eyeglass company, Ray-Ban, who really ran with the concept. In 1936, using the newly available polarized lenses, and a wide frame that offered maximum protection from the sheen of an instrument panel, Ray-Ban began to produce a lens that banned the sun’s rays. Some three years later, this model of sunglass so popular with pilots, became readily available to the American public. Ray-Ban ‘aviators’ were born. As Americans came of age, so too did their eyewear. Throughout the war years Ray-Ban continued its working partnership with the Air Force, creating Gradient mirror lenses that managed to be both highly practical and fashionable at the same time. There was something about that American flyer in his tough brown leather flight jacket, whose sunglasses hid his eyes. Ray-Ban had just made sunglasses sexy. Ubiquitous in the 1950’s, sunglasses became more than just eye protection. Worn by A-list celebrities in Vegas and Hollywood -stars whose every move was scrutinized and emulated all over the country- sunglasses became a fashion accessory, and Ray-Ban was quick to accommodate the growing trend for new designs and colorful frames, which they marketed to women in particular. Keeping abreast of space-age technology, the company developed shatterproof lenses in the 1960’s and the popularity of sunglasses continued to rise when fashion icon Jackie Kennedy was often seen with her trademark, oversized frames. On the silver screen, sunglasses were becoming an essential part of any actor’s costume, with movie stars like Peter Fonda and Audrey Hepburn, playing stylish, sunglass-wearing, characters who were able to hide their eyes from the audience and remain convincing. Ray-Ban continued to develop new styles and designs in the 1970’s and 1980’s: their ‘Wings’ model was indeed a forerunner to the very modern, half-frame, lens of today. In the era of American TV cop shows, like Starsky & Hutch, and Chips, the mirrored lenses once so popular in the 1940’s, began to reappear. Ray-Ban was retro. Stylish and modern, funky and retro, Ray-Ban remains at the forefront of sunglass manufacturing to this day, no mean feat when one considers the competition out there. Undoubtedly, the company will continue to have staying power in the industry, because throughout the decades it has evolved with the nation to give people exactly what they want for their eyes: the reliable protection of a hi-tech pair of sunglasses, and the serious ‘cool’ of a damn sexy pair of shades.

Finding Flattering Eyeglasses |

Finding Flattering Eyeglasses

Author: Colby Morrison

When looking for the perfect pair of eyeglasses, there is one main factor you should look for; how well they will look on your face. When you are looking for the right pair of eyeglasses, most people will normally try on every pair possible in order to judge which is best for them, but what if you could narrow down your search before you even step foot in the eyeglass store? Now you can. Simply determine your face shape and coloring and you will be able to establish which shape and eyeglass color will fit you best. Choosing the correct eyeglass frame for your face shape can be as simple as following the three keys that the Vision Council of America (VCA) has set forth in their Envision Yourself Program. These three keys are as follows: The frame shape should contrast well with the face shape, the frame size should be in scale with the face size and eyewear should repeat your personal best feature (such as a light color frame to match blonde hair). There are seven basic face shapes according to the VCA and when you can fully understand which shape your face falls under, you will be one step closer to determining your perfect pair of eyeglasses. The seven face shapes are: base-down triangle, base-up triangle, diamond, round, square, oval and oblong. Also, a good optician can help you when choosing the perfect pair of eyeglasses by following these guidelines. Overview of Face Shapes and Eyeglass Frames As stated above, there are seven basic face shapes and you should always be aware of which face shape you have in order to determine which eyeglasses will suit you best. Making sure that you determine which face shape you have and that you choose an eyeglass frame to fit your shape, you will want to follow the subsequent guidelines. A round face has curved lines and the width and length are in the same proportions with no angles. For choosing the correct eyeglasses for a round face, you should try angular narrow eyeglass frames to lengthen the shape of your face and look for a set of eyeglasses that has a wider structure than long, such as a rectangular shape. An oval face is believed to be the perfect face shape due to its equal proportions. To keep your faces physical balance, look for a set of eyeglasses that are as wide as the broadest part of the face. Base-down Triangle face shapes are narrow at the forehead and widen around the cheek and chin. To best proportion the top half of the face, choose an eyeglass that is wider in shape. A Base-up Triangle face has a wider top third and a narrow bottom third. To best adjust the scope of your face, chose a lighter color frame or possibly a rimless frame as these will draw less attention to the top third of your face. A square face shape has a strong jaw line and a broad forehead while the width and length are generally in the same proportions. To make your face look longer, try narrow frames that have more width than depth. Diamond shape face structures are narrow at the jaw line and eye line while the cheekbones are generally wider. Even though this is the rarest face shape, you can still find eyeglasses to compliment it by choosing a frame that have detailed brow-lines or are rimless and possibly cat-eye shaped. The oblong face shape is commonly longer than it is wide and has a long straight cheek line. To make the face seem shorter and more balanced, try a frame that has top-to-bottom depth so it will add depth to the face structure. Colors of your skin, hair and eyes will effect your decision Skin tone is a primary factor in determining the right eyeglass color. All tones fall into two different color bases – blue (cool) or yellow (warm). A cool complexion has blue or pink traces while a warm complexion has a “peaches and cream” or yellow shine. Eye color is usually a second rate reason in choosing your eyeglasses due to the wide range of eye colors. For example, blue eyes can range from a cool almost violet color all the way to a pale-blue, which is a warm color. Brown eyes can range from a light shade which is cool, all the way to a dark almost black warm color. Hair colors are also considered either cool or warm. Strawberry Blond, white, salt-and-pepper gray, and light brown are all cool colors. Golden blond, flat black, brown-gold, red and “dirty” gray are all considered warm colors. Once you have determined if you are a cool or warm color, you will then be able to find the eyeglasses that will best suit your needs. Some examples of frame colors for cool coloring are black, dark brown, blue-gray, plum, magenta, blue and a dark turquoise. Warm coloring will be best fit to wear frames with the following colors: gold, copper, peach, light tan, orange, coral, bright red, off-white, warm blue and light turquoise. Final decision when choosing your eyeglasses At the end of the day, you must be completely happy with your choice in eyeglasses because you will be the only one wearing them every day and you will need to be content with your choice so that you will want to wear your eyeglasses daily and in turn will keep your eyesight the same or better in the long run. This is a guideline to help you choose the best frame to suit your shape and coloring, but you ultimately will be the one making the deciding vote. We do recommend that you follow this format when choosing your eyeglasses as well as do the Vision Council of America (VCA). Remembering to choose the right eyeglass frames based upon your face shape and your warm or cool coloring will ensure that you are selecting the correct eyeglasses.

Bridal Gowns for Every Figure

Author: Colby Morrison

It is not unusual for a bride to be quite picky when it comes to choosing the bridal gown to wear at her wedding.  As cynical as the world may get when it comes to weddings, the truth is that a woman becomes a bride only once in her life. Her wedding day is the day when a woman should appear to be at her absolute best.  To achieve that, she must wear a bridal gown that is just perfect for her. The emotional strings that a bridal gown holds for a woman sometimes make the task of finding the perfect one a very daunting task.  Many brides get frazzled with the number of decisions they need to make just with choosing what bridal gown to wear, let alone the other details that she must attend to in arranging her wedding.  Thankfully, some carefully planning can turn the difficult task of finding the perfect bridal gown into a very enjoyable one. If you are in the market for a bridal gown, then you should start looking for the right dress at least six months before your wedding day.  It takes time to choose a bridal gown that will suit you the best from among hundreds and hundreds of styles and designs available to you.  Moreover, getting a bridal gown specially made for you can take four to six months to accomplish, and you need to allow a little more time for possible alterations. You can start your search by compiling pictures of bridal gowns that you like.  You can download these pictures from the Internet or cut them out from bridal magazines. If you fancy the bridal gown that your mother, your sister, your friend or even your grandmother wore to her wedding, get a picture of it.  Put all the pictures you have collected in a file so you can have something to consult when choosing the style of your own bridal gown. When choosing the style of your bridal gown, there are a couple of things that you need to consider.  First is that the theme and formality of your wedding ceremony, as well as where the ceremony shall be held.  Goodness knows how uncomfortable and out of place you would be at your own wedding if you are wearing a heavy bridal gown with a long veil and train and the wedding is held at a beach. If your wedding is a formal evening affair, your bridal gown should be a floor-length gown with a train.  You may also need to wear gloves.  If it is a semi-formal event, whether it is to be held in the evening or during the daytime, your bridal gown should be something that reaches your ankles.  You can have a veil with that gown, but no train.  If your wedding is going to be a day affair, or if it is your second wedding, you can wear a long dress or a short dress without a veil.  You can also wear a suit with a skirt and dress it up with a smart-looking hat. The second thing that you must consider when choosing the style of your bridal gown is that your gown must flatter the shape of your body, embellishing its finer points and hiding or camouflaging its not-so-fine points.  It should also be something that you are comfortable wearing.  Here are a few suggestions on what style could flatter your body: 1. If you are tall and if you have a slim figure, there is no need to worry.  You can wear a bridal gown of just about any style. 2. If you have an hourglass figure, meaning your bust and your hips are in proportion and you have a defined waist, you could go for a V-neck bridal gown with an A-line skirt.  The V-neck of your bodice can accentuate the fullness of your bust while an A-line skirt can look poofy enough without making your hips look too wide. 3. If you have a pear-shaped figure, meaning your body is bottom-heavy and your hips are wide, you should wear a bridal gown with a few extra details on the bodice and an A-line skirt.  The detailing on your bodice, be it beadings or embroidery, will draw the eyes to your bust while de-emphasizing your hips.  An empire-style gown with a draping skirt would look nice too. 4. If you are short and with a very slight figure, you need a bridal gown that will create the illusion of a fuller figure.  You could go with an off-shoulder dress with a shawl-like collar and a skirt that flares out from below the middle of your thighs. As much as you need to take your time when choosing the perfect bridal gown for you, if you fall in love with a specific dress and know that it is the one for you, end your search and buy the dress without hesitation.  If you leave the store without buying that bridal gown, some other bride will find it and any bridal gown you choose later on will only be a poor second.
